bhuniya house
Concept & Planning Philosophy
Bhuniya House, Medinipur is designed with a contemporary architectural approach that combines functional planning, climatic responsiveness, and bold modern aesthetics. The concept focuses on creating a compact yet visually striking residence through projected masses, recessed volumes, clean horizontal bands, and geometric framing elements that enhance the building’s identity.
The planning is developed to ensure efficient space utilization, proper ventilation, natural daylight, and smooth circulation. Public spaces like the living and dining areas are positioned towards the east-facing front for better light and openness, while private zones maintain comfort and privacy. The staircase acts as a central circulation core and also improves vertical airflow within the house.
The 3D elevation reflects a modern tropical style with balanced solid and void compositions, minimal material palette, textured wall treatments, and feature elements that create depth and shadow throughout the day. The overall design aims to achieve a practical, comfortable, and visually iconic family residence suitable for the climatic and urban context of West Bengal.
